Every vehicle also has various other serial numbers in different locations (bodywork, gearbox, differential) on the vehicle, but it is not possible to use these numbers to arrive at the VIN.

1.2 Form and appearance of the VIN
1.2.1 Stamped VIN
The VIN is stamped onto the body shell at the Sant’Agata Bolognese (Province Bologna) works. Two methods of stamping are in use for current production models.

1.3 VIN behind the windscreen – Visible VIN
Located on the left, in the direction of travel
On all Gallardo vehicles the VIN is behind the windscreen. But this badge is only used on vehicles destined for the American, Canadian and Chinese markets on the MURCIÉLAGO (before MY 2008).

2. Type Plate:
2.1 Location of the type plate

Type plates can be found in the following locations:

2.2 Type Plate – Composition and appearance
Type plates are made of aluminium, measuring 9 x 8 cm and are attached to the bodywork by rivets. The individual letters are 5 mm in height.
A different aluminium type plate with different dimensions and content is used for the Chinese and Arabic markets (e.g. Dubai).
European pattern type plates are also used for Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Africa.

A 10.05 x 8 cm type plate is used for the American market.
Narrower type plates are used on the Gallardo LP 560

3. Engine Number:
3.1 Location of the engine number
The engine number is stamped onto the right side of the engine block.

3.2 Form and appearance of the engine number
The alphanumeric engine number is stamped on mechanically.

The first part of the engine number is the engine designation.

The second part of the engine number in lamborghini is a 5-digit serial number.
4. Vehicle Keys:
Lamborghini vehicles are issued with two foldaway main keys with remote control (image 1) and two keys for deactivating the front passenger’s airbag (image 2).
The keys also come with a security code for making replacement keys (image 3).
