On RENAULT vehicles, the engine number consists of a code with four groups of characters.

Engine plate:
Stamped engine number
1 = Engine type
2 = Engine approval number
3 = Renault engine designation
4 = Engine production number

 

 Breakdown of the gearbox number

On Renault vehicles, the gearbox number is a code with three groups of characters.

3 = Production identification number

 

Production Number

The production number is on the type plate sticker (see image below). It is used by the Renault dealer network for ordering spare parts.
