Vehicle Keys:
Since model year 2003 Ducati has issued its vehicles with the following 3 keys.
– 2 keys (black) with transponders
for normal use (fuel tank lock – ignition – seat lock)
– 1 key (red) with transponder
suitable for all locks (as black). Furthermore, a replacement key (black) can be based on this key.
A tag with the key code also issued with the keys.
Vehicles cannot identified from the keys.
Replacement keys:
If a customer requires additional keys he can request them from DUCATI customer service, but must produce all the other keys in his possession and the IMO card.
DUCATI customer service will then record all the new and the remaining original keys (max. 8 keys).
The code numbers of the keys that have not produced will be deleted. This prevents keys which might have been lost from being used to start the engine.
Older keys do not have a built-in transponder.
