vehicle-registration-documents of Switzerland

There are five different versions of the Swiss vehicle registration document in circulation.
In some instances paper is or was used which contains no security features.
The typeface varies from Canton to Canton and even with different print runs. Errors in the text are not uncommon.
Complete forgeries have come to light, which sometimes are of better quality than the original documents.

In cases of suspicion, the only sure way to ascertain whether a document is genuine is to check with the issuing authority.
