Vehicle registration document – old version
As the German vehicle registration document contains no security measures, the only way to identify a complete forgery, other than running a check through Zevis, consists above all in picking up spelling errors in the basic document!
Several spelling errors were identified in the document depicted below.
A fairly poor forgery of a seal of the Landratsamt [District Chief Executive’s Office] in Hof was also used.

N.B.:
Approximately 100 000 genuine German vehicle registration documents,
bearing the spelling errors shown below, were properly issued by the city of Cologne (Köln) until more or less October 2004

The paper remains dark, coloured fluorescent fibres (grain), the form number, all the pre-printed text on the facing page, all the protective pattern on the reverse and the federal eagle on the facing page fluoresce in green – see images |

Print quality:

The protective pattern is printed in the form of guilloches in Iris printing, the green text on the original document is in letterpress printing (sometimes with poorly visible halo effect), blue and red coloured grain (visible without UV light), micro lettering – see image, cinegram (with the word “Deutschland” in micro lettering)? |
N.B.:
Blank documents with numbers from UE 051696 – UE 051900 have been stolen !
