The Location of the Bentley engine number is

1. Stuck onto the engine block on the Arnage.

2. On the Bentley Continental series engine number is etched on the front of the crankcase

Right under the cylinder head and above the drive belt tightener on the second line of cylinders.

3. On Bentley Arnage engine number with V8 engines, it is etched onto the molded block on the upper front side of the crankcase between the rows of cylinders. The number is covered by throttle housing and the air intake assembly and can sometimes be difficult to read. There is also a metal plate with the Bentley engine number attached to the front of the engine unit.

4. On Arnages fitted with a V12 engine this is stamped onto a mechanically prepared surface on an angular cast eye on the right on the crankcase. The block is precisely above the air conditioning compressor and behind the camshaft chain tightener.

On newer models, it is sometimes concealed by the engine covering. Sometimes, however, particularly on older vehicles, this sticker can have been worn off.

The main number consists of two 4-digit blocks with the Bentley engine serial number, e.g. 5110 1122. This is then followed by a further identification number:- 44 8 RA N or 54 12 RAN.

On 12-cylinder engines fitted to the Continental series the engine numbers begin as follows:
From the model year 2004 until the model year 2006 the engine number begins with „BEB“.
From model year 2007 it begins with „BWR

BEB = stands for a W12-Bentley engine

The actual number depends on the plant where it was manufactured, i.e., Salzgitter or Crewe.

Engines built in Salzgitter have the prefix 1.

Engines built in Crewe have the prefix 2.
Example = *BEB002117*
