Nissan VIN Number

Nissan motor cars can be identified from the following numbers:

Location Nissan VIN Number – stamped on the vehicle – on the type plate – Visible VIN (only Micra, 350 Z, Qashqai, Pathfinder Cube, NV200, 370 Z, GTR and Primastar) Engine Number – stamped onto the engine block- as a barcode sticker on the engine block (seldom) Gearbox Number – on the underside of the bell housing- on stickers on the gearbox housing (only Kubistar and Primastar)

Customised vehicles can be identified with the aid of the engine number. These enquires must be forwarded to Japan. It can therefore take between 2 – 3 weeks to receive a reply.

Enquiries using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be answered immediately.

The Nissan engine number in passenger cars is generally stamped on the engine block, where the gearbox is flanges.

In the majority of cases it is located at the front on the left, in the direction of travel, sometimes the number can also be found on the engine at the back on the left.

This also applies to the NISSAN SERENA.

Exception: On the NISSAN 300 ZX Twin Turbo and on the 350 Z: on the engine block, at the back, on the right (above the gearbox)
