Provisional vehicle licences have a limited validity period

The reverse side of the vehicle licence has numerals in the upper, lower and right corner. Punched numerals – like, in this case, 22 and X – indicate a provisional vehicle licence. The Arabic numerals refer to the day of validity,
whereas the Roman numerals indicate the month of validity.

According to the punch, the vehicle licence shown here is valid until 22 October.

Provisional vehicle licences are issued with a validity of 10 working days.
